The mechanical and “classic” movement
continues to pick up steam in the world
of paintball, with more events added to
the calendar each season! September
7-8, 2019, Outdoor Xtreme Chespeake
City, better known as OXCC, hosted the
Mid-Atlantic Classic ten-man tournament
drawing nine solid squads from around
the region, plus the Sabrewolves back
to defend their 2018 title, to mix it up
in the woods and on a Hyperball field.
With everything from classic Autocockers
to newer, high-end Autococker models
taking the field alongside Eclipse
EMeks, Shockers and even several
of the remarkable new Adrenaline
Shockers, the event was a great mix of
ten-man mechanical fun, intense old-
school competition and like-minded
camaraderie on a great late summer/
early Fall weekend!
Having won the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Classic
and a recent ten-man event at Paintball
Central, plus finishing strong in both the
five and ten-man divisions of the now-
legendary Iron City Classic in Pittsburgh,
there wasn’t much doubt at the 19 Mid-
Atlantic Classic that the team to beat was
the Saberwolves. That said, the other
teams in-attendance weren’t planning
to simply hand the trophy over without
settling it with flying paint, especially
considering the remainder of the field
had a hefty number of Ground Zero and
Master Blaster squads playing. Those
squads were stacked with talent both
young and old, with legendary ten-man
world champions and even some NXL
title-holders mixing in with young, fast
and hungry players ready to fix bayonets
and trade welts.
