We had never been to Indiana before so this was an excuse to pick up another refrigerator magnet too! Twofer!! Our flight was into O’Hare in Chicago and a pretty easy drive to Winamac Indiana. Id say it took us around two hours, and we were definitely taking our time and sightseeing. Our first impression of Indiana was that out was green….And flat! With nearly perfect weather in the 70’s it was shaping up to be an awesome weekend. Our travel day was Friday, so we didn’t get into Indiana until Saturday morning at about 7:30am. Or was it 8:30am? Strange little fact about Fort Knox Paintball is that it sits right on the time change line!! One half of the field is on Eastern Time and the other half is on Central. So, we pull into the parking lot at like 7:30/8:30 am or whatever and the first thing that hits you right in the feels is the amount of heart, love, and soul that went into this paintball park! It is an absolutely gorgeous park by any and all standards. There is a three story 072 paintball.media magazine tower that is protected by netting that family members can watch the games from. The pro shop had all kinds of gear you might need on either your first time paintballing or, if you are like me, and enjoy forgetting your gloves from time to time. The owners and staff are so friendly it made me wonder if it was just them or if Indiana as a whole gave off such a welcoming feeling. (Jury is still out on that one.) The field itself is easily one of the nicest fields I have ever played on, and I don’t say that lightly. And I have been to quite a few fields over the years. There is a large pond in the middle of the property with a bridge that spans across it. This is the high ground and some of the best positions to rain down on unsuspecting players from, so it was hotly contested all weekend long.
