After another excellent Millennium Season
in 2015, the inaugural event of the new season was held
in a brand new location. After several years in Puget-surArgens, France, this year’s season opener was held in Costa
Dorada, about an hour down the coast from Barcelona,
Spain. To say this area of Europe is beautiful would be
the understatement of the year. A spectacular coastline
and beautiful coastal towns dot the map as you head
south down the coast from Barcelona. An alternate route
takes you through the mountains outside of Barcelona.
Whatever route you choose, the drive from Barcelona to
the playing fields in Costa Dorada is a treat.
The event was held on the grounds of the Futbol Salou
Sports Complex, which was literally a ten-minute walk to
the hotels and the amazing beach towns of Cambrils and
Salou. The Cambrils Park Resort was the team, vendor
and industry hotel for the Mediterranean Cup and as I
mentioned earlier, it was walking distance from the playing
fields. The resort had it all—from lodging (bungalows,
villas and apartments) to entertainment and restaurants,
and it was the gathering hot-spot for the event.
The fields were set up on probably the best turf I have
ever seen for paintball. And there were more than enough
Futbol fields to accommodate the number of fields needed
