But all is not lost. The league did the best
they could to bring in hay to start the drying
process. The “all day rain” forecast for Friday,
day one of the event was just changed to a
“possible scattered light rain.” And Saturday
and Sunday’s reports are promising. Kudos
to the league and its army of laborers who
worked tirelessly all week to make the best of
a potentially event-ruining weather forecast.

Coming into Dallas Edmonton Impact,
seemingly always the team to beat, had
previously won the Las Vegas Open—but
looked not quite as sharp in Barcelona,
finishing third. Moscow Red Legion was
dominant in Barcelona and strong but
beatable in Las Vegas, finishing fourth in the
pro division. And Houston Heat’s second
place finish in Vegas and fourth in Barcelona
has them right in the mix. And there’s ac:

even the harshest critics. Fellow Texans, San
Antonio X-Factor’s third place finish in Vegas
is promising (as X-Factor always is) but can
they step up and win an event?
