The missions are many and varied. There are some very challenging multi-tiered ones to more traditional ones. One of James’ favorite missions is “The Alamo”. We sit 10 players from each side in opposite bases and they have to hold out against the whole side of the opposing team. Whoever holds out the longest wins the mission. “Plant Your Own Flag” is another favorite. In this one the two teams start a session and sprint toward each trying to be the first to plant their flag in the insertion base they want for that session. We also have “The Tactical Challenge Course” and the multi-tiered “Downed Pilot Mission”. They find these guys hanging in trees and if the Predator shows up, well things get interesting real fast. For this event to be a success, with its sometimes complicated mission structure and unique missions, you need Generals who are tactically quick on their feet and still know how to make an event fun. This year was no exception. Djuan Mitchell, the Black Water red side commander (a rising star in 088 paintball.media magazine in scenario paintball circles) brought his vast experience to the event, while Carl Faust, the Special Forces blue side commander, (even though it was his first time as a scenario commander) knocked it out of the park. Both teams battled back and forth all weekend, and everyone had a great time. Here’s what Djuan’s XO, Craig Kemper had to say about the game: “It was another humid day at Indy Paintball Battlegrounds as we were gearing up for the 5th installment of the Predators Bane series. The weather was giving us some fits, so we were delayed for a short time due to rain, which was OK with me! After Living Legends 12, I was good on playing in the rain for a while. Djuan and I had been discussing the game the whole week prior to the event and it became our strategy to allow each other to do what we do best. Djuan would lead the front lines and motivate all our warriors to push forward and gain ground wherever needed. I would lead up a small force of elite missions’ players to accomplish what missions came at hand.
