The Grim Reapers travel all over the country
playing scenario paintball and have won
many awards at some of the nation’s most
prestigious events: Oklahoma DDay, The
Michigan Big Game, and Living Legends to
name a few. “It always feels great to win an
award, but we have discovered something
just as rewarding - giving them out.” Jay
Shadowfox Jordan and team Captain of the
Grim Reapers puts it this way, “When we
started producing Predator’s Bane, almost 6
years ago, we had no idea how much fun it
would be to put on an event. We could not
decide if it was more fun watching the Young
Guns running the young gun missions with
veteran players or creating the awards and
seeing the sense of accomplishment in the
teams and individuals as we handed them
out.”
back. James “Rook” Hineman, the Executive
Officer says, “We put on two events a year:
Predator’s Bane and our fund raiser for vets
in August (this year August 28). It is because
of Indy Paintball Battleground that we can do
any of this. They have supported us for many
years. If you have not been to their field, you
need to get out here. They work their tails off
for the players.”
So how does this work? According to
Shadowfox, “I write an overall story arc for
the event. James takes that very rough gem
and adds his organizational genius to it and
creates a diamond. The team steps up then
and refs the event the way they would want
it to be done - polishing that diamond to a
beautiful shine. They all know the missions,
hustle their butts off, and know the field like
the backs of their hands so they can answer
