subsequent missions saw each faction
being allied with all the other factions,
which in a game like Armageddon that
is an impressive battle to observe. As
the dust settled mission after mission,
one team seemed to rise to top after
repeatedly dominating every mission.
The European faction had ended day
one by carving out a comfortable lead
over all other competitors making
them a force to be reckoned with as
day two loomed.
As paintballers gather in specific
places to attend different events they
just don’t consume the field, they also
consume the community surrounding
the field. Whether they are taking
up local lodging, dining at the local
restaurants or partaking in the local
nightlife, they are investing in that
particular community. Two groups
in particular took this opportunity to
not only invest in their money into

Pinckney, MI but they also invested
their hearts. The Modern Day Pirates
with the Backwoods Banshees put on
a cookout for the local Veterans at
the American Legion Post 419. This
is the second year in a row that these
three groups have come together for
food, drinks and brotherhood. The
paintballers arrived at 3:30 p.m. and
started preparing a feast of burgers,
hotdogs, steak hoagies, and all the
succulent accompaniments. This group
of paintballers and adventurers also
purchased their drinks from the local
American Legion to put money back
into such an amazing organization.
The true magic was not just in the food
and drinks, but it is in the conversations
and shared stories that follow, all the
Veterans and all the adventurers that
gathered together have become family
and look forward to being able to keep
this tradition alive. One does not have
