Buccaneers in their own spawn but were
unsuccessful, and with heavy battles at
the front of the field and at the tobacco
house the tug-of-war had begun. The Red
team dug in deep in the tobacco house
and despite losing the battle for the
front of the field and being completely
surround the Red players stopped all
of the Blue forces from entering the
house. The Buccaneers were eventually
successful in taking the middle of the
field and completely entrapping the
Marauders in their base once again. As
the Buccaneers continued to complete
missions and gain points the Marauders
were attempting to regain territory and
even explore attacks in other territories.
The question of field control vs. side
choice was answered, in the end it was not
the swamp or terrain that prevailed but
leadership and organization that won the
day. The fight and skill in every player on
that field cannot be denied, the firefights
throughout both days were skillful,
intense and passionate but strategy and
communication were in the Buccaneer’s
corner for Dreaded Legends 4. With only
Final Battle left the Buccaneers seemed
to have a commanding lead but the
Marauders were not packing it in yet. They
were ready to show the world the Legend
inside each and every one of them.
A scenario paintball event’s success is
measured basically in the players. When
the producer provides a game worth
playing and the field provides facilities
worth playing on then the players will
come and the players will shoot paint.
The addition of Commanders provides
and extra added benefit for increasing
attendance. They contact teams and
individuals to come play for them. The
variable always seems to be in the
amount of the players a commander is
able to recruit, in a perfect world both
commanders would recruit the exact
same amount. This situation does occur
but not always. This was not the situation
with Dreaded Legends 4. The Buccaneers
were extremely active in recruiting and
happened to gain more players than the
Marauders, and in the spirit of fair play
some teams stepped up to swap sides.
This placed the Buccaneers a few players
behind the Marauders, that gap was filled
in by Walk-ons.
