a warm, muggy, Spring day with a little
morning rain. As the weather was a little
back-and-forth, I chose Marbalizer to run
through the gun with a G.I. Sportz LVL
loader and an Immortal Air bottle. paint was breaking on them. During play,
I did not chop or break a single paintball
and the marker handled the wet, humid
weather very well, holding steady over the
chronograph throughout the day.
As the 170R is very light, I expected a bit
of recoil while shooting the marker but it
was barely perceptible. The 170 fires with
a quiet signature, making communication
in a tournament environment simple even
while shooting and helping a player stay
somewhat concealed while battling in the
woods. After a few test shots to get on-
target, I had no issues putting paint right
where I needed it to go, near or far, with
the marker, whether through gaps in brush,
through windows or holes in structures, or
right onto exposed goggles, hoppers or
anything else an opponent didn’t manage
to keep tucked into his bunker. At longer
ranges, I found the 170 to be accurate and
quiet enough that I was able to put paint
on people who had no idea they were
within my range, and who didn’t even
know they were being shot at until the Light, simple to maintain and packed with
all the features serious paintball players
could ask for, the Eclipse GTek 170R is yet
another outstanding paintball gun from a
company known for making outstanding
paintball guns. It’s accurate, quiet, well-
made, consistent, efficient and much easier
on the wallet than tournament markers
costing well in excess of a thousand dollars.
For players serious about their paintball,
whether in the woods or on an inflatable
field, looking for an affordable marker they
can trust, the Eclipse GTek 170R checks off
all the boxes!
