Infamous, ending Edmonton Impact’s perfect season.
In the pro finals it was Los Angeles jumping out to a
2-1 start behind really strong play by Damian Ryan and
Thomas Taylor. The third point appeared to be scored by
Edmonton Impact but it was overturned for a dirty hang.
Infamous would extend their lead to 4-1 with roughly nine
minutes to play--quick points and a lot of action in this
one. Edmonton Impact then got it to 4-3, just grinding
out points to keep this one close. The teams then traded
points, 5-4. Then 6-3 Infamous. Then 6-4, 6-5 and finally
Infamous pulls away 7-5, although the game would end
up 7-6. What a game and what a win for Los Angeles
The pro division was definitely a tough act to follow but
there are nine othe r divisions in the NXL. In the semipro
division it was the Brooklyn Bears sitting atop the season
rankings list after their win in Las Vegas. Distortion, TJ
All Stars and Sacramento DMG rounded out the top
four going into Texas. While all of the bracket leaders
struggled a bit in the preliminary rounds, only the TJ All
Stars didn’t make it to Sunday.
Looking at the semipro preliminary round scores with a bit
perplexing as there wasn’t a single team of the 21 entered
