As they were trying to divide players in each group and the confusion became thick, one player stood out amongst the rest shouting “It doesn’t matter who we play against, we just want to play paintball!” That statement truly does capture the spirit that is Living Legends and that is Paintball itself, it doesn’t matter who you are and what you carry, we just want to shoot you and with that beautiful pump on the line, it was a target rich environment. The event was a literal dogfight the entire time and a window into what the weekend’s event would have to offer. The Mech/Pump/ Magfed players got some of their anticipation and angst out early. With Saturday morning, day one, looming, every player would soon get their chance to taste blood. reach boundaries and they push them. We, the Paintball community, are fortunate to say that we have them in our midst. They are explorers, innovators, promoters, builders and most importantly of all, they are ballers. Their love for this sport enabled us to have the advances and the opportunities that we have today. We are gifted with opportunities to engage in conversation with them, learn from them and in some cases be guided by them. CPX Sports went a step further in recognizing these innovators of Paintball by creating the Paintball Hall of Fame. Each year, since 2017, the Paintball Hall of Fame has inducted the Legends of our sport into their Halls so they may be forever remembered for the contributions they brought to all of our lives.
