The Windy City Open took place on June
1-2, 2019. In attendance were 20 Pro teams
and 19 Amateurs. If you’ve followed paintball
for any length of time you probably know
most of the teams registered as Pros—teams
like the Master Blasters, All Americans,
Aftershock, Infamous, KAPP Factory, the
Ironmen, San Diego Dynasty and on and
on. The Amateur division also had a handful
of classic names—like Ground Zero Gold,
Shocktech Gunfighters, The Family, Doc’s
Warriors, X-Men, Black Sunday and more.
The ICPL event rosters were filled with
paintball royalty. Renick Miller, Todd
Adamson, Mike Bruno, Shane Pestana,
Garrett Noblett and Danny Love were just
a few of the 90s star players on Aftershock’s
Windy City Roster. Frank Connell, Tim

Jenkins and Spesh Robinson suited up in
All Americans garb. Ryan Greenspan, Alex
Fraige, Glenn Forster, Tyler Harmon, Andy
“AK 47” Kopcok and Rodney Squires were
just a few of the Dynasty names you’d know
playing Chicago. And KAPP Factory’s eclectic
group featured Matty Marshall, Dave Bains,
Alex Goldman, Tim Montressor, Colt Roberts
and Glenn Takemoto, to name a few. And
this is just a small sampling of the star power
in attendance at the Windy City Open.
In all 39 teams entered the Windy City Open
ready to do battle old school style. In the
Pro division preliminary rounds Chicago
Aftershock were unbeatable posting 769
points in eight games.
