A few hours into the second day, the
CHAR had a mission to spawn in a certain
area and moderately disrupt both teams,
only one problem, neither team was at
that area. The CHAR decided to go find
people, and where did they find them, at
the Blue team base. Red team backed
the Blue team all the way back to their
base and pinned them in. What ensued
was one of the most exciting firefights
of the weekend. Red team, CHAR and
the Blue went head to head to space
out the opposition and excite blood in
everyone’s body. Blue team was able to
complete more missions, they were able
to gain some ground and they began to
fight back against Red and Green, the life
was flowing through them, the warrior
was awake. When the Red commander
Joe Perez was asked about the CHAR’s
interference he had this as his response
“At the end of the day it’s all about the
player experience and as leaders in the
sport we need to always keep that in mind
and do whatever it takes to make sure as
many people as possible have a good
time. Plus I love pirate hunting...” As
Red and Blue continued their tug-o-war
and the CHAR kept pushing them down
every chance they received, Day Two

was a day no one wanted to see end but
with Final Battle in the horizon everyone’s
blood began to boil. At the call of the
Refs, Day Two was in the books, the Red
team maintained a sizeable lead and the
infamous Final Battle was upon us.
CPX has always had an interesting take on
its Final Battles whether it be intended goal
in the middle of the field or the layout of
the field itself. Black Ops Paintball seems
to share that same mentality, a unique
and exciting adaption of a common end
to a scenario event. Black Ops and CPX
provided a mounds field for the 2019
Final Battle of Bones and Ashes, broken
up by concrete bunkers and tubes it really
provides a trench warfare-like atmosphere.
As the teams divided to the respective
sides it became apparent that extra help
was needed on the Blue side and extra
help was available. The CHAR combined
with the Blue team to give the dominating
Red team the fight of its life. 30 minutes
of warrior cries, guns popping, and paint
flying from every direction through the
smoke filled atmosphere always makes an
exciting conclusion to any CPX Legends
event.
