With a plethora of teams moving up to the
semipro division this year’s Division Two Xball
bracket looks very unfamiliar. The 32 team
division was up for grabs as it was impossible
to predict who the teams to beat were. In
the preliminary rounds Grit (19th in 2019 final
standings) and Struggle (11th in 2019 final
standings) were dominant, each winning all
four Friday games. CEP, Brawl, CO Blitz, FcK,
Padres and Royal City Sea Dogs II each won
three of four first round games.
Struggle went on to beat Vintage (2018
Division Three title winners) in the ochos, Fck
in the quarterfinals, CO Blitz in the semifinals
and CEP in the finals to win their first NXL
event.
Division Three Xball saw 34 teams competing
in Las Vegas, with only three teams winning
all of their preliminary round games.
PaintballFit.com (winners of three Division
Four events in 2018), SA Notorious FsU and
Noobies (2018 Division Four title winners)
each won their four Friday games. It would be
PaintballFit.com besting the Bayside Raiders
in the finals to win their first event in Division
Three. Twenty teams entered Division Four

first NXL event.
Five teams entered the Open Ten-Man
Division in Las Vegas and not surprisingly
Washington Winstons, last season’s champs,
walked away with the win. Beer League
Paintball won the Amateur Open Ten-Man
Division.
Reverent Mercs won the Open Five-Man
and the Five-Man Pump; Rampage took the
Division Three Five-Man; Vikings Brasil won
the Division Four Five-Man bracket; Maui
Mixed Plate Gold won the Division Five
5-Man; Backwoods Rednecks won the Open
Three-Man Division; LVPP Outkast won the
Amateur Three-Man; and Ruling Saints won
the Novice Five-Man;
The NXL Las Vegas Open drew more than
200 teams making it the largest West Coast
Pro/Am event in a decade. The NXL season
tour continues in May with stop number two
in Texas.
