The Empire Syx is standard with an
Autococker barrel thread and is delivered
with a two-piece, spiral ported stock
barrel with a 7.5-inch control bore that
is brightly honed. Rubber wrap-around
pistol grips keep the marker well-seated
in the hand while shooting and our test
model featured a snappy double blade
trigger allowing for fast semi-automatic
rates of fire and a smooth, consistent
pull to activate and maintain ramp. The
marker’s lever-style on/off bottle adapter
blends seamlessly into the bottom
of the grip frame in-keeping with the
marker’s smooth flowing lines, and a low-
rise, adjustable clamping feed neck is
compatible with every modern hopper
we could find to cram into it.

The Syx’s nine-volt battery power source
is removable without tools and the
simple Axe-style low-pressure engine
also pops from the rear of the marker
without the need for tools of any kind
making maintenance, even in the pits in
the middle of a match, much simpler to
accomplish. The Redline board is full-
featured and offers all the firing modes a
player could ever need (or will likely ever
use), and the break-beam, laser anti-chop
eyes help keep ball breaks and chops to
a minimum. Delivered in a padded semi-
rigid case, the Syx offers all the features a
serious player needs to hit the field and
play serious paintball.
