The Misfits are team made up of players
that have been around for decades,
playing on teams like Jax Warriors, Team
Xtreme, Nemesis, Aftershock, OBR and
of course the Misfits and others you’d
probably know. Although most members
of the team retired from competitive
paintball in the early to mid-2000s, they
got back together to play the Southern
Open Ten-Man Classic in 2017. From
Misfits’ captain Matt Davis, “For the
majority of us it was the first time we
played together on the same team and
we barely missed the cut at fifth place.
Actually, it is worse than that. Had we had
an extra ten seconds in one game, the
whistle would have blown after we hung
the flag...and we would have been in 4th
place.”
Davis continued, “We are a band of
misfits—people from all walks of life with
a competitive urge to play paintball. We

probably don’t like you. You probably
don’t like us. Hell, we don’t even really
like each other. What we do like is playing
paintball together. There are no egos on
the team. The majority of us have stood
on top of the podium many times. We
don’t have anything to prove...except
that we can do this again and do it our
way!” The Misfits call Paintball Atlanta
their home field and they’ll be practicing
against teams like Fight Club, Gridlock,
Doc’s Warriors and the Annihilators in
preparation for the 2019 ICPL season.
