The fifth and final game was a very creative
scenario where we played in tunnel 2. The
green team had to defend the end of the
tunnel and the red team started at the other
end of the same tunnel. You had to stay in
that one section of the mine, so no sneaking
around behind other players, but the side
tunnels could be hidden in. There was a large
Bulrog that one of the organizers actually
stood inside of, so he got a birds eye view of
the action and every time one of the green
players was eliminated the Bulrog stepped
forward one step. If he made his way ¾ of
the way down the mine to a predetermined
point, the red team would win. The game had
a set time. Shields were in use in this game
and were a major part of the strategy of the
game. As the green team rushed out on the
start, we took as much mine tunnel as we
could and set up shield walls on both sides
to slow down the advance of the red team.
This game was a bruiser, as it took a lot of
effort and paint to move down the tunnels
and the green team really dug in like ticks
into the sides of the mines. I made sure to tell
my players to stay out of the line of fire if they
were not actively engaging the enemy so that
we could conserve paint and have enough
for the whole game. There were continuous
spawns so the field was full of players trying
their best to move us further and deeper into
the mine. With only 8 steps to go, time ran out
and the green team won the final scenario! It
was an amazing day of paintball in one of the
most creative places to play our sport, and
something that everyone needs to experience
if they are a diehard paintballer! • • •
