On September 29, 2019 a group of players
converged upon Blastcamp Paintball & Airsoft
in Hobart, Indiana for the 3 year anniversary of
monthly magfed only games (MFOGs). Each
month, Caesar Cisneros of ODIL hosts a get
together for magfed players. It’s a fun day
of hanging out with friends, shooting at each
other, and eating pizza. The games are all
sponsored by Magfed Pro Shops who, along
with others within the magfed community,
will occasionally donate items to be raffled
at the end of the day during some games
throughout the year.
When Caesar first began hosting these
monthly games, they were at Blastcamp every
month. However, as word got out to magfed
players throughout the Midwest, the games
grew. Not only have the MFOGs grown, but
ODIL has as well! Now, you can find ODIL
hosting MFOGs at several different fields,
including Fort Knox Paintball, Sherwood
Forest Paintball, and Legacy Adventure Park,
just to name a few.
Each game follows the same basic format.
Players arrive at the field and catch up with
each other, especially those they may not
have seen since last month. Once everyone
is checked in and geared up, they are divided
into two teams for the day. Then it’s onto the
field for one of several different games the
ODIL crew has planned for the day. After
approximately 30 minutes of play, it’s back
off the field to reload for the next game.
Multiple games are played throughout the
day, in a format that is similar to open play
at many fields. Each time the players take
the field it’s a new game, and play typically
moves to a new area of play.
