During these events, as hard as my team tried we were getting decimated by trying to win our
games by merit and attacking, not by default and playing defensively.
So I tried and I tried to implement the introduction of classic rules paintball into the UK but to
no avail as a lot of players didn’t want to give up their fire power advantage which in the short
term made them better players. This didn’t deter me as I knew that the missing element, if
people just tried it, would encourage larger more calculated plays in the game and slowly and
surely some of the more experienced players started to get behind the classic movement.
Now at present as I write this, and at long last, more or less all of the woodsball events being
run this year in the UK and Europe are now playing classic rules with the exception of one
site but in time they will have no choice to go the classic route or potentially get left behind
in the classic game. My biggest concern at the moment, again, is that history is beginning to
repeat itself with the arms race beginning all over again. There are people, players now trying
to make and produce upgrades that once again make our mechanical guns shoot faster and
faster.
