It took the Ironmen some time to pull it all together in 2018. But when
they did and things started clicking, these guys looked good. And no
surprise either, as their roster is a talented one. That being said, several
members have removed the legendary shield, as aforementioned Greg
Siewers went to Impact and Keith Devitt departed. The team recently
announced Corey Hall would be added to the roster, over from Scottsdale
Elevation (who we’ll get to in a minute be patient). Matt Darula will play
his 2019 paintball with Baltimore Revo, another team who really started
to click as the season went on, and who look to challenge in 2019 inside
the net. Don’t you dare forget about Infamous, who recently switched to
Pro Shar paint and Virtue loaders for 2019 – they’re not going anywhere
and will shoot you in the face a lot to prove it.
Outside the top ten of pro paintball, the remaining teams are a grab bag
of potential: we’re all waiting to see who will figure out the formula and
break into the Sunday club next. After a rough start to the season, Seattle
Thunder clawed and fought their way to Sunday in Chicago and while
they lost Jared Lackey to New York Xtreme, the experience of this team
really shines when the heat is on. Thunder has left longtime sponsor G.I.
Sportz and VForce for APX and Virtue for 2019, but will continue to wear
UNDR soft goods, along with Seattle Uprising who joined the UNDR
family for the new season. NYX is doing all the right things to challenge
the top contenders and they played Sunday paintball with the pros last
season as well. Scottsdale Elevation started their season looking strong
indeed, making Sunday appearances, but faded as the season went on.
The Outlaws have brought up Kevin “KCav” Cavanaugh after a long
career in the divisional ranks. DMG were consistently solid throughout
2018 with a Sunday appearance last season, but lost Tim Brusselback to
Impact. PC Katana has been slowly piecing it together throughout 2018,
along with Boom and the ML Kings.
What does it all mean? Best we can tell, it all adds up to one hell of a
tournament season in the United States in 2019.
