Team Smoke won their two matches versus the Saints and
Tribe Savages to claim one of the three coveted final-round
spots. MVPS Dark Ops continued their undefeated roll,
winning their two games and advancing. And Ground Zero
24K easily advanced from their bracket.
The Amateur ten-man finals began and again it was MVPS
Dark Ops getting the jump. They would win their two games
to claim first place in the Amateur ten-man division. Ground
Zero 24K beat Team Smoke to take second place.
The AA’s walked through the Open five-man division
preliminary rounds with barely a challenge, winning all
eight games, seven of which were maxes. AAF2 lost their
first two games but came back with six straight wins. In the
semifinals Farside were the only team to win their two games,
guaranteeing their spot in the finals. The Florida Annihilators
won one game and advanced to round out the three team
final bracket: AA’s, Farside and Annihilators.
The Florida Annihilators dominated their two final round
games, maxing each and taking first place. The AA’s finished
second and Farside third.
With the 2020 ICPL Sunshine Classic in the books the
remaining event on the schedule is the ICPL Windy City
Open, October 2-4 at The Badlandz in Crete, Illinois. Surf
