The signature feature of the Fulda Gap
scenario, the Command Decisions field
itself, challenges players like few others
with its rolling, hilly landscape that forces
players to sprint, slide, hike, climb, clamber,
creep and crawl, all while being shot at with
paintballs and First Strike rounds and stalked
by roaring tanks. Hillsides roll and then slope
menacingly upwards, creeks wind through
the woods, and buildings, firebases and set-
piece urban combat offer players of every
skill level and style preference an option
for intense combat. Weather for the event,
though ominous at the outset thanks to a
storm, dried for the weekend’s festivities with
cold nights and chilly mornings giving way to
warmer, sunny days ideal for paintball.

By the time the campfires had gone out, the
tents were rolled up, the last paintball had
rolled to a stop in the woods and the scores
were tallied, it was WARSAW under the
command of Archangel Mikel that took the
win at Fulda Gap 2019, while the Fulda Gap
Make A Wish Challenge tallied well over
four thousand dollars raised for an amazing
cause. Millions of Valken paintballs and First
Strike rounds were fired, players pounded
miles of Carolina ground and enjoyed a
game unlike anything else in paintball for all
the right reasons. With improved parking, a
long list of happy sponsors and vendors, a
great playing field and well over a thousand
players, Fulda Gap continues to grow and
should already be on the short list of “must-
attend” games for 2020!
