The evening of November 8Th and the eve of the
second installment of “The Battle for Stalingrad II” at
White River Paintball in Anderson, IN was a chilly one,
yet one filled with excitement. This particular event was
special because all command staff as well as the scenario
master(producer) were doing this for the first time. This
made for a suspenseful anticipation of who would pull
through with the victory.
The second Stalingrad started out as a very promising
event with two up and coming young generals - Colt
“Panda” Saylors, the fearless leader of the Russian Red
Army, and Ben Pidgeon, the calm and collected leader
of the German War Machine. Panda was accompanied
by his executive officer Mitch “X-Ray” Smardzewski of
the Grim Reapers Scenario Paintball team who proved
to be a wonderful asset for the Russian army. Ben was
accompanied by Stephani “Mrs. Kempzilla” Kemper
who was an ingenious pick for the German War Machine.
Ultimately, the hard-fought victory was earned by the
German’s at the weekend’s end.
This was an event with no slap sticks, which made for
an interesting course of action for both teams. This was
especially true since Cargo City was out of use due to
its role as Stalingrad and all the interesting mini battles
which ensued.
