Unfortunately for the Ironmen, this would be the end of the road as Red Legion played a level above them (and everyone else), taking the match and the first place victory 5-2. This was great showing from the Red Legion but it was nice to see Baltimore Revo and the Ironmen join Impact and Houston Heat in the top four. Coming into this event San Diego Aftermath held the top spot on the season long Semiprofessional leaderboard, with two first place wins and a fifth place showing in Atlantic City. On their heels was Indianapolis Mutiny with a win in Atlantic City and two other final-round appearances. And not far 034 paintball.media magazine behind the top two Semipro leaders was ac: Diesel with three top five finishes in 2018. In Chicago the script played out much like you may have predicted, with Mutiny, Aftermath, ac: Diesel and NRG Elite (fourth on the season’s leaderboard) all breezing through the preliminary rounds going undefeated. Baltimore Nasty lost only one preliminary round game and turned up their game on Sunday with quarterfinal and semifinal round wins, which got them to the finals and in a showdown for first place with San Diego Aftermath. In the end Aftermath was too much for Nasty to handle and the boys from San Diego notched their third event win in four tries this season. Indianapolis Mutiny finished in third place and the Royal City Sea Dogs placed fourth.
