The Season has begun! This past weekend I grabbed the lens and hit the road down to Camp Pendleton on the California coast. It was the first event of the famous West Coast Paintball Players League (WCPPL) This event is owned by Michael Hinman who is no stranger to the world of Paintball. He has Jerry Cleve at his side who is committed to each and every event. I think however... that this was the first time that I have been in Oceanside where the sun shined all day! Being from Arizona, the sun beating down was no shocker to me. Players did a great job and finding shady spots between the matches and keeping themselves hydrated. And I know many a team found their way to the beaches to cool off, after a long day playing. There were new teams and seasoned teams at this event, all vying to prove themselves the best, or to just show how hungry and ready to try and beat out the previous seasonal winners. Friday we saw D2, D3 and some of D4 play hard. A lot of matches we saw the point for point battles and a lot were trying to play the pockets. This took a turn on the Saturday, as teams stepped up the aggressive play a couple notches and showed no mercy. Sunday it was time for D5 and I have to give a shout out to those Young Gunz! They were all kids and their jersey’s were looking sharp! As the D5 teams were getting their feet wet on the field for the first time, we saw D4, D3, and D2 start the finals. It was rough as teams went against equally competitive teams, all hungry for the win. Ultimately there can only be 1 winner in all 3 brackets... www.paintball.media 075
