fields were all under water. Players were informed ahead of time to come prepared by bringing waterproof boots. CAMPERS AND VENDORS Campers started to arrive on Thursday and were separated in two sections: 1) tented-campers situated on the grass on one side of the main road, with 2) RVs and buses on the other, located directly next to the vendor area. Vendors like Dye, Empire, Valken, Social Paintball, Virtue, and Planet Eclipse set up shop, and the Minor League Paintball Series Owner, Will Lumpkin, provided the air for the event. Luckily, the weekend before Dreaded Legends, Lumpkin and the MiLP held a “Winter Mixer” for 3-man and 5-man D6, D5, and D4 teams. The MiLP also provided the Registration Area for the APPA Staff. FRIDAY Friday, January 29th, was the first day of the event open to 046 paintball.media magazine magfed and pump players only. They started game play at 12 noon and ended at 4PM. At 4PM on the speedball field, the MiLP Series provided the bunkers, which featured the new “W” bunkers (situated at the center-50 and entries to the snake). It was a 3-on-3 with the Captains from each side and each player were only allowed to load a single shot at a time into their markers. Team Blue won the 3-on3 Battle and got to choose the side they wanted. At sunset, players dressed in their best pirate costumes and headed over to FTT’s Tiki Bar next to the man-made beach. One of the contestants, Dana Carver of Ninja Death Squad, he cheerfully said in pirate character, “There has never been a more wretched collection of scurvy dogs and wenches! I gave it ‘two swords up’!” Both women and men wore detailed pirate costuming, and in the end, it was an actual professional pirate that won the contest.
