The very first thing you should buy are goggles.
Not only are they required for your safety but
if you can not see what you are doing, you can
not play effectively. You could shoot your own
players. You could run headfirst into a tree…
yes, I’ve seen it happen… more than once.
When goggles fog, that falls under the bad
category. If you can not see, you can not play.
So, do you buy new or used? I passionately
believe in this case you must buy new. To
clarify, I mean new lenses. I change mine every
season. You can buy used goggles but be sure
to change the lenses. You only get two eyes.
While we are on the topic of goggles, be sure
that they fit your face and that the strap is
solid. It is fine to buy used goggles but once you
replace the lenses and then you must replace
the strap or re-glue/replace the foam and so
