chrongraph, the Inception EMek delivered a
string of 291, 288, 290 and another at 287,
292, 290 in pretty Spring weather with clear
skies and temperatures in the seventies. At the
target range, the gun’s velocity consistency and
the quiet, well-honed Inception Stella barrel
worked in perfect concert to deliver “pick a
spot and shoot it” accuracy at all ranges. Fence
post? Ping. Old goggles on a stick? Cycloptic
optic. Pod on the ground. Clack, sorry it’s
cracked now no more pod for you. When it
was time to jump on the trigger, we recorded
several strings over a chronograph measuring
for average rate of fire and easily hit and held
an average of 8.9 shots per second – and that’s
with a single-trigger, mechanical paintball gun.
That’s a hell of a gun – we told you way back
there a couple pages ago. You’ve gotta trust us
on this stuff.
In short, the question was answered pretty
emphatically and left no doubt in our minds
– the ultimate Eclipse EMek can be built with
Inception upgrades that absolutely, positively
creates a gun more than the sum of its
parts. An Inception EMek is incredibly light,
impressively accurate, fast firing, simple to
maintain, relentlessly reliable, consistent over
the chrono, easy on the eyes and, when its
performance is compared to its price point,
easy on the wallet, too! All that and Simon’s
soothing voice? Sign us up!
