Twenty four teams entered the NXL Chartres
Open in the Semiprofessional division.
Cryptonomics, Russian Roulette, RMG
Mercs and Galapagos One41 Tortugas got
off to a hot start in Friday and Saturday play.
But the NXL Europe is all about getting to
Sunday and playing your best ball when it
matters most. Of the four teams mentioned
above it was Russian Roulette bowing out
earliest as they were beaten by Ranger
Warsaw in the Semipro quarterfinals 4-0.
Ranger Warsaw then lost its next match in
the semifinals to Cryptonomics. In the other
semifinal game RMG Mercs beat Galapagos
One41 Tortugas 5-3, ending their title quest
earlier than they had hoped. In the finals
RMG Mercs beat Cryptonomics in a great,
closely fought game, 4-3 to win the Semipro
bracket of this first-even NXL Europe event.

Division Two Xball saw only one team go
undefeated in the preliminary rounds--
Desperados Moscow and none of their
games were even close. And as luck
would have it they would lose their very
first Sunday Club game, 3-2 to Droogs
Horrorshow. Bergen Legacy, FiveStar Lleida
3 and Fighter Pro Shar Perm each won their
quarterfinals matchups. Moving onto the
finals it was Fighter Pro Shar Perm blanking
FiveStar Lleida 4-0 to take first place.
