division is unlimited paint, while the
Semipro and divisional Xball rules call for
four pods and a hopper of paint only. Most
other important rules were kept in place
from 2017 Euro play.
Chartres, France is a beautiful city located
an hour (90 kilometers) from Paris. Dotted
with cathedrals, castles and church steeples
this river town is truly picturesque. Standing
on the playing fields you could literally see
the amazing centerpiece of the city, the
Chartres Cathedral. The NXL’s chosen venue
for this event was the Hippodrome de
Chartres, just one km from center city. The
venue was beautiful—grass fields, clean and

flat with seating for spectators.
The NXL used four grass fields for
the Chartres Open, with a total of 87
participating teams. But the green grass
quickly muddied as earlier rain and
dampness, coupled with heavy fog softened
the tundra. But what is a major paintball
event in France if not for a little cold, fog,
rain and mud?

Pro Xball Division this season after a
