2018 was the 15th year for Monte Cassino
and this year’s generals were Bud Orr and
Dan Colby. After the event they both said
they cannot wait to come back in 2019. Bill
Bailey has always been the game promoter,
handling all side missions as well. In years
past, the attendance was around 250 players,
but this year a mind blowing 520, with even
more expected for next year.
The site offers six acres of campground
to allow players to enjoy spending time
off the field together. Joe said they will
be expanding the campground for next
year’s growth. 20 crates of firewood will be
scattered around the campground which is
free of charge. Don’t miss out on the player
party and cookout for registered players on
Friday night. Something that was impressive
at this field was not only the compressed air

at the shop, but players were raving about
the mobile compressors and fill stations on
the field, saving time as well as energy to
keep the player on the field longer.
The 80 acres facility is a large area, with the
ability to grow even larger. Joe and his family
have thought this through offering a bus
and military truck to and from areas of the
field that are a long walk for a better player
experience. This 80 acres offers every kind of
landscape for players’ enjoyment. The pirate
ship, as stated before, is more than what it
sounds… it truly is an experience to battle
against and mostly from. Battles on the top
deck and in the belly of the ship through
portholes to battle from are a blast. And
trying to get your flag colors to the top is
amazing.
