On April 28-30 200 players invaded
Command Decisions Wargame Center in
Taylorsville, NC (the home of Fulda Gap).
At the end of the day the shot 500,000
paintballs and 3250 FirstStrike rounds
were fired in the pursuit of having a good
time. Con Thien is a game based during
the Vietnam War circa 1967. This year
we had Josh “Steakman” Martin from
S.T.A.R. Paintball as General for the U.S.
Marines. NVA (North Vietnam Army) had
the pleasure of having Chris “Werewolf”
Molles as their General. A big THANK
YOU goes out to Valken Corp as sponsor
the event this year.
Con Thien was created to honor and
remember all the soldiers who fought in
the Vietnam War and they made sure to
152
paintball.media magazine
recognize all military at the game and pay
respects.
Con Thien has a combination of paintball
tanks, RPG guns, and fireworks to
simulate air strikes and missile barrages
on some of the most varied terrain in
the nation. This gives the players a great
overall experience, helping the player
feel like they are in a warzone and that
they need to fight for every inch of the
field.
