The Texas Motor Speedway, located in
northern Fort Worth is typically known for its
fast driving, tire burning, left turn only kind of
excitement. But on the weekend of May 5th
through the 7th, the 2017 NXL Texas Open
came into town for the second year in a row
to bring another type of excitement to the
lone star state. This excitement, though at a
similar speed of roughly 200 miles per hour
would come not from a vehicle, but from
thousands of paintball markers instead. 195
teams from all over traveled to the Dallas-
Fort Worth metroplex to compete across
12 divisions spanning from the top dogs in
the Professional line-up down to the Division
5 (Beginner) teams looking to make the

transition into the tournament scene and up
through the National rankings.
Battling it out over three long days of play
in the toasty Texas heat is no joke, and is
not, by any means for the weak at heart. The
action was intense, the rivalries were real
and the best of the best showed up to play
ball. Friday kicked off with four undefeated
pro teams as Houston Heat, Edmonton
Impact, Moscow Red Legion and San Diego
