Luigi 3 years to get a victory over Bowzer but we finally
did it. Thank you Princess and all the teams that played
for and against us... I always enjoy my time at Crazy Bills
and this event was awesome. With the large number of
players and all the improvements Carl has made to the
field, I really love playing the new prison. The power ups
and bonuses written into the game by Tom “Tomcat”
Cunningham made this a fun game. Our pre registration
numbers were low so we ended up with most of the walk
on registrants that morning. Which was a very good thing.
Team Luigi/Princess pushed hard from the start and never
let up. I look forward to this event every year, we will be
back for more!”
It was immediately apparent the new prison complex
located at the 50 on field would be the main point of
contention for both sides. The battle itself was relatively
simple, points were awarded for flag stations each half
hour with sub missions that included eliminating either
the Princess or Mario throughout the day. As well a tower
was cordoned off and each hour on the hour for a 20
minute window, players controlling that area of the field
could access the tower and take a “mid game selfie”
using their cellphones which after tagging game officials
on Facebook were then awarded points as monitored
from the administration table.
The final battle was for slap sticks located at the 50 mid
field. Last year Bowser and his evil forces swept the field.
This year the opposite held true as Luigi and the princesses
came to exact revenge and return from exile. Luigi and
the Blue team managed a successful campaign with flag
control a majority of the day and taking firm control of the
slap sticks all the way to the end for a sweeping victory.
In the midst of what appears to be great changes in
paintball industry, closures of pro shops and fields all over,
Crazy Bills, home of the “bring your own paint” continues
to see healthy growth, fast becoming one of those popular
destination games in the province each year. • • •
