is easy to get to either driving (from places like Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, or Luxembourg) or by taking a short flight from almost anywhere in Europe. From an historical perspective The European Masters is one of the longest running events in Europe as it was originally called Maxs Masters dating back to the early 2000, nearly 15 years. Maxs is one of Europe’s largest distributors as well as one of the long time event promoters doing events like Bitburg Millennium as well as woodsball games like the EuroBigGame. One of the things the Millennium Series does so well is their trade show area. As players and spectators leave the parking lot and head into the Millennium property they are snaked through vendor row past the Millennium check-in both and scoreboard and companies like Planet Eclipse, Dye, GI Sportz, HK, KEE/Empire, Anthrax, Drom, MacDev, Maxs, Access Customs, Paint Xtreme, Virtue Paintball and PB Results. Also in the trade who area was Sportschule Bitburg’s indoor/outdoor food court which served great food and drinks all week. The venue also provided indoor bathrooms with running water. About a week ahead of the event I checked the ten day weather forecast and it showed heavy rain for two of the three weekend days in Bitburg. But we all know that the Millennium Series never really gets rained on for more than a few minutes at a time. It’s just how they roll. THE GAMES Coming onto the European Masters the team to beat in the CPL (Champions Paintball League) was the TonTons who won the league’s opening event in France. And through the preliminary rounds here in Germany they look like the same dominant team they were in that event, with three straight wins by a score of 5-1 over MLKings Prague, Marseille Icon and Amsterdam Heat. The CPL’s Group B saw three straight wins by Houston Heat in their easy climb to the top of the heap in the CPL preliminary rounds. After a 5-4 scare and overtime win against the Polar Bears from Russia, featuring Ryan Greenspan and Oliver Lang, Edmonton Impact cruised to an undefeated prelim bracket in Group C. And Breakout Spa handled their business with three wins in their Group D bracket. Under beautiful sunny skies on Sunday Toulouse www.paintball.media 055
