The New Alien Deception
– The Introduction

PART I
You may know Alien Paintball for the 2010 release of their
Alien Invasion marker, or their Independence—two guns
that got plenty of attention and rightfully so. But their latest
release, the Deception, is definitely a gun you’re going to
hear a lot more about. The Deception is a thing of beauty.
It looks amazing and shoots event better.
Measured across the board “A new best,” is how Alien is
describing their fifth generation double-stacked release with
its new morph valve. An all-new gun is always interesting.
Yet it seems the new is often just the “slightly different.”
Add a new valve and now you have our attention. However
Alien is also saying what this “across the board best blend”
means. They define it as: sound signature, calmness in

shooting, efficiency, accuracy, fit and finish, how the gun
fits in your hands, weight, solid construction, overall size,
required maintenance and ease of cleaning. They call it
the Goldilocks Gun because it allegedly does everything
just right.
Well the term hubris came to mind. But that kind of
confidence did peak our curiosity. Remembering that when
I saw the gun at Paintball Extravaganza it was a pretty
awesome looking gun, I was looking forward to getting one
in my hands for a thorough examination. Now it has to be
said that different players want different things from their
marker. The player that wants “the quietest gun” will rate
the quietest gun higher overall than one that has different
