Command Decisions Paintball, located in
Taylorsville, North Carolina, is perhaps best
known for their huge scenario game, Fulda
Gap, held each year in November. Upwards
of 1500 players travel from all over the U.S.
to battle these amazing playing fields all
weekend long. Command Decisions is not
built on a massive footprint like some of
the iconic paintball fields in America—but
it is iconic in ever sense of the word. Huge
open fields, hilly terrain, thick woods, manmade
and natural bunkers, forts, towers and
trenches are just a few of the things to expect
playing at Command Decisions.
Each year for about a decade I’ve made the
five-plus hour drive to Command Decisions
from my home near Washington DC and I’ve
never been disappointed. Owner Pete Russell
has been in charge for a few years now after
purchasing he field from its previous owners.
Pete and the staff have done an amazing
job keeping the fields pristine, adding new
elements to the fields and running first-class
games week after week. If you are fortunate
enough to play at Command Decisions in the
Fall, it’s one of the most beautiful, scenic
properties in the southeast.
Whether you’re a new player or seasoned
regular, Command Decisions has something
special waiting for you. With top-notch rental
gear, great refs, organization and playing
fields, this is one of the true gems in the
game.
