The competition seemed to be dead even, until the Marauders overcame the Buccaneers and took ground that would not be taken back. The Marauders had finally, barely taken control of the battle, working every second to keep the blue team at bay. The relentless Buccaneers would not go quietly with their heads down, they charged into battle, being led by a man with a Teddy Bear head and a Vanilla Gorilla, only to meet a wall of Marauders ready to demolish dreams. All players throughout the weekend fought as though it was their first and last event. They fought with pride and sportsmanship! There is rarely a game with so many smiling and thankful faces, thankful that paintball is back, and that their life is back. Thank you to all the CPX staff that created this game, spent hours writing missions and creating props, thank you for bringing us the opportunity to play. Thank you Black Ops Paintball for your impeccable facilities and always putting the player first. Thank you to the Refs of Solstice Law for keeping us safe, keeping us honest and keeping the game fun, it is not the same without you. Thank you to Inspire Photography and Pirate Beard Images for making us look like heroes and providing us the ability to share with our families. Thank you dear players for keeping this sport what it is, the good and the bad, we as a community keep this sport alive. We cross many, many man made barriers for the love of this sport and this community, proving that it is not what’s behind the mask but what’s in our hearts that keep us together. Congratulations to all who made it to this event, you made it a successful event and congratulations to Mamba and the Marauders for setting the CPX Legends record for the biggest comeback win over the Buccaneers. I hope to see all of you at Dreaded Legends 6 in beautiful, sunny Myrtle Beach. Photo By John Amodea 042 paintball.media magazine
