Camp Pendleton Raiders won the league’s opening event in Las Vegas. In event number two the Raiders got off to a slow start, losing two of their first round games. That said, they did advance to the ochos where they beat New World Order 3-2, then lost in the quarterfinals to Preferred Mob 5-2. Like the Camp Pendleton Raiders, Preferred Mod only won two of their preliminary round games and bounced back to make the Sunday Club Cut. From there it was one tough game after another as they w orked their way all the way to the finals where they would meet Louisville Xtreme. Like the rest of the event it was no cakewalk for Preferred Mob but they did what they had to do to win the game 5-3, sealing the first place finish—a nice jump up from their 11th place finish in Vegas. Division Two now has five teams 038 paintball.media magazine within 18 points of first place in the overall standings in this anything goes division. It should be fun to watch all season. Division Three Xball had a nice 40 team turnout in Texas. And like Division Two, this division is ultra-competitive. TOG, winners in Las Vegas and the favorite of many to win Texas, didn’t make it out of the preliminary rounds, just missing the Sunday cut and finishing in 17th place. Str8Killas, who didn’t play in Vegas lost their opening game in the preliminary rounds and went on to win only two of their first four games. But as is the case in any sport, get hot, stay hot and win is the goal and that’s what they did. Str8Killas beat Notorious FSU in the ochos, Baltimore Revo 2 in the quarterfinals, Tulsa Rage in the semifinals and Seattle Ninjas in the finals to win the event!
