Thursday evening was the night game, which turned
out to be more of a costume party than paintball.
Because it is so hard to see and so dangerous, a
lot of players would just wear funky stuff out there
to make themselves targets. Some of the outfits I
saw were superheroes, villains, and guys dressed up
in short shorts and glow sticks! The purpose of this
game was just to have fun, and with that they were
very successful.
Friday morning was the morning that the Allied side
fought for Utah Beach, one of the most infamous
battles in D-Day history. In previous years, this event
would take place on Saturday at the big game. The
change they made this year was so anyone could play
this event on either side. The players fought hard, but
in the end the German’s took home the trophy for
this event.
Friday evening when the parade and awards take
place, there were none. This year there were a lot of
heat casualties on Utah Beach, so the staff thought it
best for the players to take it easy for the night. Even
though the usual D-Day festivities were canceled for
the night, that did not stop the party from going on!
Valken Corps had a party Friday night for everyone.
They smoked pork for sandwiches, had a raffle,
and gave out prizes. During dinner they even had
a pushup contest where they gave out even more
tickets for the raffle. It was so much fun, and a great
