inch Ninja compressed air bottle and other hoppers like the Rotor, HK TFX or Spire, we were hard pressed to create a game-ready Shocker RSX that weighed five pounds. In addition to being light, attractive, small, packed with features and delivered in a nice protective case, the Shocker RSX also happens to shoot paintballs very, very well. Due in no small part to its small size and weight, when the RSX is fired recoil is perceptible – not detrimental to accuracy or performance, but noticeable. The marker reports with a snappy pop but is relatively quiet thanks in no small part to its standard All American Freak barrel, long-regarded as one of the quietest and most successful barrels in competitive paintball. Thanks also to this standard barrel and the consistency of the marker, the RSX delivers impressive accuracy at all ranges, from ball-on-ball accuracy at close ranges to extremely predicable, tight groups even as ranges increase. Holding lanes and keeping paintballs passing by the edge of a bunker protecting an opposing player is simple, while players in the woods will appreciate the marker’s ability to put paintballs through small gaps in brush or through small holes in constructed bunkers. No paintballs were chopped by the Shocker RSX or broken in its barrel at any time during testing with various grades of G.I. Sportz paintballs. Switching shooting modes or adjusting other electronic features of the Shocker is extremely simple thanks to the large, easily-understood screen at the rear of the marker’s grip frame, and removing the bolt for cleaning or maintenance is even easier: by simply pushing a button at the rear of the marker’s receiver the bolt system pops from the rear of the marker and can then be removed, wiped clean, the o-rings checked, the system greased and reinserted. Efficiency of the marker is solid, with between 1200 and 1400 shots being recorded from a 68 cubic inch fill. marker inside the net would do well to take a shot at it with the Shocker RSX, as we assembled one with this goal in mind. We added a Pinokio Speed hopper, Ninja 45 cubic inch bottle and even went to the length of swapping the standard, matching-anodized aluminum All American Freak barrel front for a carbon fiber Freak front, producing a game-ready marker that practically floated over the scale at a remarkable four pounds, six ounces! Even with a 68 cubic A simple yet feature-packed marker that shoots well and delivers pro-level performance at hundreds less than other tournament paintball guns, the Shocker RSX is an impressive piece of equipment. Extremely light, attractive and small, the new marker is already being used in professional competition by teams like Seattle Thunder, and those who pick it up will likely very pleased with what they find. • • • www.ShockerPaintball.com www.paintball.media 133
