The Shocker Re-Born… Again!
Text & Photography by Joshua D. Silverman
There are few marker names that carry with them the history
and heritage within the game of paintball as “Shocker”. As
one of the very first electronic paintball markers, the Shocker
evolved through various incarnations into game, event and
title winning guns that shrank with each new model getting
smaller, lighter and better as the game changed around it.
What started as a big, hefty “shoe box” shrank into SFT
and NXT models by the time the game morphed from tenman to XBall and top teams using the Shocker included
the All Americans, later the two-time National XBall League
World Champion Philadelphia Americans, legendary
pro powerhouse team Dynasty and many others. After a
several-year hiatus, the Shocker has returned and, again,
it’s smaller, lighter and better than ever- the Shocker has

been re-born, again!
Lighter and smaller than ever, the new Shocker RSX
produces a high “wow” factor thanks to its small size,
sleek look and extremely light weight. Its $799 price tag
doesn’t exactly hurt it either. Though this is no small sum,
serious tournament players often consider markers like the
Eclipse Geo and Ego series, the Luxe, Dye DM markers,
MacDev, Bob Long and Empire markers easily clearing
$1,000 dollars and sometimes approaching $1,500. At its
price, the Shocker slots just above markers like the Eclipse
Etek series and the Empire Axe, while offering a featurerich, high-performance choice well below the price of most
companies’ flagship markers.
