J T Goggles Anyone? JT Racing (now JT Paintball) brought to market the first goggle systems exclusively made for the game of paintball in 1987 when they introduced their GSX Pursuit Goggles, the Whipper Snapper Goggles and the OTG (over the glasses) Goggle and facemask systems. For more than a decade JT’s goggles ruled paintball fields and events worldwide, albeit with competition from Scott Goggles and other minor players like Vents Goggles, Leader Goggles and others. Since its heyday JT has been bought and sold several times, changing hands and changing direction frequently and until recently (under the GI Sportz banner of companies) has seemed to be a rudderless ship. Prediction: GI puts effort into reestablishing the JT Paintball name and reputation in 2019 with limited success. An overcrowded goggle market will make it tough, if not impossible for JT to be a dominant force in the game in 2019. That said, their line will expand and they will be competitive. 058 paintball.media magazine
