Fulda Gap paintball is 70 acres of uphill battle for both sides both ways, both days. This may sound like something your parents told you about how they went to school when they were kids (minus the snow) but I can assure you that Fulda Gap at Command Decisions in Taylorsville North Carolina is uphill both ways. For 13 years in early November, the foothills of North Carolina are turned into a re-creation of what would have been the opening scenes of a Soviet attack on the West if the Cold War had become hot in the 1970s or 80s. Fulda Gap has had basically the same layout and points matrix for all 13 years. Yet, no two games have ever been the same in gameplay or strategy. This is the longest running game in the country that is 70 paintball.media magazine completely unscripted and where strategy and troop movements are exclusively left to the Generals and in 2017 something shocking happened. The sides tied and at the end of the game a rematch was offered and excepted. I would once again go against my good friend Richard “Mamba” Money in 2018. With all options open to the Generals, it is imperative that they have excellent command of control over their side and even with that, the outcome is never guaranteed. This year was no different. This year the game was a week earlier because of a week earlier because of World Cup date change and this provided better weather and warmer temperatures than in years past.
