San Diego Dynasty went up against such
legendary names as the Philadelphia All-
Americans, Paraplegic Turtles and the
Ironmen and claimed victory at the inaugural
Bay Cities Classic, held Oct. 5-7 at West
Coast Adventure Park in Sloughhouse,
California, showing why they are the most
decorated team in professional paintball as
they won the event that melded the past and
the present with three days of paintball on
three separate fields: woodsball, spools and
hyperball.
While the play was nothing short of incredible,
one of the biggest draws of the BVC was the
rank and file tournament players – or even
recreational players – getting the opportunity
to test their skills against some of the true
legends of paintball.

A veritable who’s who from the sport’s roots
through its glory days of the early- to mid-
2000s – including Michael Baird, Rocky
Cagnoni, Billy Ceranski, Frank Connell,
Glenn Forster, Dirk Gadberry, Chris Lasoya,
Bob Long, Danny Love, Micah McLaughlin,
Shane Pastana, Mike Paxson, Dale Price,
Rich Telford and Darryl Trent just to name a
few – battled it out against all comers.
The Bay Cities Classic featured 5 and 10-
man tournament play and continued the
old school theme by limiting markers to
mechanical or electronic markers capped at
5.5 balls per second. Teams could score a
maximum of 100 points per match: 50 points
for hanging the flag, 20 for first pull, two for
each eliminated opponent and one for each
live player at the end of the match.
