Second, a tactical briefing on the game
from the commanders. Finally, play the
paintball version of the battle. These games
were a big hit with the players: both new
and D-Day veterans have commented on
how much they liked this format and that
they would like to see more of it in 2019.
With these games being played all over
the property, players got to ride the park’s
military vehicles to and from the battlefield
and this only added to the complete D-Day
experience. This year’s mini-scenarios
consisted of Dunkirk (a retreat/be attacked
scenario), Anzio Breakout, Assault on
Brecourt, Invasion of Crete, Objective Y,
Battle of Sicily, Battle of Foy (Magfed).
During the mag-fed games Engler Custom
Paintball Guns provided each side with 2
of their 1919 Brownings, an M2 Browning
and an MG-42. These hopper fed HMGs
provided a real WWII feel to the games.

I personally look forward to more games
from HGP and you can find more info
about them here: https://www.facebook.

Sniper Challenge: Each year the park
hosts a “Sniper Challenge” hosted by First-
Strike. This is where players that want to test
their skills against other snipers compete in
an unknown/un-ranged setting. This year’s
challenge took place shooting form the
church in Colleville to the Comms Tower.
The snipers had to shoot through a small
window in the Comms Tower. I did not get
the name of this year’s winner but I can
confidently say that the competition was
tough for sure.
Obstacle Course: Another yearly favorite
(for some) is the obstacle course run by
team Wetworks.
