The rankings title race in Division One is a
tight one, with 7 to 8 of the 33 teams still
in the hunt after two of the four events
were complete and heading into this third
2017 event. And of the top ten or so teams
in Division One there are eight different
countries represented with only Russia and
the Ukraine having two teams in the top ten.
This competitive balance is good for the
division, good for the league and good for
worldwide paintball.
After a 25th place finish in Puget Consilium
Dei Zurich came back and won the European
Masters in Germany. And Kiev Xpress
followed up their win in Puget with a 10th place
finish in Germany. Nothing is guaranteed

2017. Anyone can win at almost any time and
even the top teams are capable of finishing
in the middle of the pack.
In the end it came down to Lions PB Martigny
(Switzerland), Desperados Moscow (Russia),
Ugly Ducklings Odense (Sweden) and Kyiv
United (Kiev) in the final four. Desperados
Moscow and ugly Ducklings would win and
move on. In the finals Desperados Moscow
turned up their game a notch with a 3-1 win
over Ugly Ducklings Odense.
Note to Division Two teams: If you are
planning to attend the Millennium Series
World Championships you’re probably
not going to win unless your team name is
Galapagos Tortugas.
