While all of this is going on dozens of blue,
yellow, green, red, orange and white smoke
grenades are tossed from each side—quite
a sight. This year, the first wave of players
leaving the landing craft were chewed up
pretty well, with only a spattering of Allied
Forces making it safely to their bunkers. But
as time went on Allied Forces gained more
and more success and soon were battling
head to head with the Germans. But the tree
line is thick, filled with mounds, hills, bunkers
and all sorts of cover and the Germans dug in

and survived even the most aggressive Allied
attacks.
Meanwhile Caen, Sainte Mere-Eglise,
Carentan and many other locations were
heating up with fierce battles—some with
as many as several hundred players going at
it head to head. All day long missions were
going out on both sides—all three if you
