first place in each of the first two Millennium Series events in 2016. This is a dominant team that will surely make the upward jump to the SPL next season. FiveStar Lleida 2 had a second and third place finish coming into the campaign cup. Staying tru e to form RMG Symphony Bratislava stood out all weekend, with dominating win after dominating win in Division One. FiveStart Lleida 2 also looked like their usually strong self until the quarterfinals where they were sent home much earlier than they hoped for by West Connection Rouen in a 4-0 shutout. Brussels Heat, another surprise team making it to late Sunday afternoon also played well enough to make it all the way to the finals. So the stage was set for a finals matchup between the favored RMG Symphony Bratislava and the surprise Division One team Brussels Heat. The underdog story ended in the finals however, as RMG Symphony Bratislava did what they always seem to do… winning the final-round matchup, this time against Brussels Heat. RMG Symphony Bratislava has now played three events and won all three! It’s pretty rare when a team enters its first event three events into the season and walks away winners. That’s exactly what happened when Falkoeping MASH0313 entered the Campaign Cup’s Division Two, where Ultra Moscow had won the previous two events. But not this one. Falkoeping MASH0313 played great paintball all weekend making it all the way to the finals where they met and beat Diaspora Vilnius 3-1. Harbour Crew Hamburg beat Izmir Angelpark to win Division Three and RabbitZ Toulouse beat Liverpool Showtime to take Division Four. The Nations Cup/World Cup is always a favorite of tournament paintball fans worldwide and for this event the theme was Men’s play. All-star teams from around the world come together in this event to see which nation can stand out among the crowd and for the first time this season, not only were many of the European nations represented, but the United States was as well. In addition to the US teams were fielded by Norway, Germany, France, Gabon, Sweden, Great Britain, Belgium, Russia, Argentina, Poland, Slovakia, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and Spain. It was quite the gathering of worldwide talent. There was one major surprise game in the Men’s Nations Cup, with Norway beating Russia in the quarterfinals 4-1. Most everyone around the event was predicting a Russia versus United States final round game but it was not to be. In the end it was the United States versus Norway and as well as Norway played throughout the event, it was not enough to contend with the Americans who won the final game and event 4-1. We’ll see you all at the Millennium Series finale in Chantilly, France in a few weeks! • • • www.paintball.media 115
