trade show—from combat boots to custom jerseys, to $75 paintball markers and $2000 complete rigs. The start of the Invasion of Normandy (ION) is always amazing to play in or watch. With literally thousands of German Axis forces manning the tree-line and thousands of Allied Forces ready to storm the beaches, the countdown to “game on” is filled with tension and anticipation. Boats at Sword, Juno, Gold and Omaha Beaches are locked, loaded and ready to storm at the call of “game on.” Germans positioned just outside of the opposing tree-line in the trenches, hills, and trees are ready to chew up anything and everything that move at game start (including refs and those of us carrying cameras). As the game starts and the thousands of rounds per second of paint is flying, blue, green, white, red and yellow smoke is deployed over and over, creating a beautiful but crazy battlefield. As is the case with most big games and all scenario games, each team is able to gain points by completing missions throughout the weekend. Points are most commonly scored by securing props and holding or taking bases. A prop may change hands and teams many times throughout the allotted time of a mission—what only matters is who is possession of it when the mission time expires. Note: Skirmish employs Prop-Masters that keep a keen eye on the props and tally the scores as they happen. Other www.paintball.media 067
